Sue Dauer Liaion:
Christian Formation

My name is Sue Dauer, a lifelong Episcopalian. In Toledo, OH, I grew up in a huge downtown congregation, Trinity Church, where I was a member of the girls' choir, taught Sunday School, and attended choir camp every summer. I briefly attended another Trinity Church in Lawrence, KS. When we moved to Lincoln, NE, I became actively involved in the Church of the Holy Trinity as a choir member, Sunday School teacher, youth group sponsor, and co-chair of the annual Christmas Bazaar.
’m a mother of three adult children, and a proud grandmother of three. I’m an avid reader and am honored to be a member of the Willamette Master Chorus. In my professional life I’m a professor in the College of Education at Western Oregon University, specializing in Literacy (teaching teachers how to teach reading and writing to their students).
You have probably seen me at St. Paul's singing with Trinity Choir, Sorores Animae, or at the Taize services. In addition, in the last seven years at St. Paul's, I've been involved in Christian Formation, Interfaith Hospitality, a member of the Women's Ministry Committee and Youth Group Advisory Committee, and a third year participant in Education for Ministry. I have seen St. Paul's in this brief period grow, change and thrive. That is what I hope to continue to pursue as a Vestry member. My vision for St. Paul's is to continue to reach out to our wonderful community though our varied outreach opportunities and our outstanding and varied musical offerings. In addition, I want to make St. Paul's a comfortable church home for families, singles, and folks of all ages. We already have a loving, active parish. I want to introduce this wonderful place to more people who love the Lord as we do.
