The Altar Guild is responsible for preparing the altar for services; caring for the linen vestments, hangings, silver, etc., and helping coordinate the services.
The guild is split into teams that rotate: one week of duties and three weeks off. Each team is responsible for all necessary cleaning and services during their week.
All the teams combine during Christmas and Easter seasons to cover all of the duties during those busy times. One member's time commitment during their team's duty week is in the general neighborhood of three to five hours.
A member can volunteer for additional committees such as wedding, funerals, or coordinating the Easter or Christmas seasons. Meetings are held several times; in the Fall, and prior to Christmas and Easter. We welcome parishioners to join us in this rewarding ministry.
Meeting at 1:30 pm the third Monday of each month, St. Anne’s raises money for worthwhile projects inside and outside the parish. For over 45 years, their major fund-raiser has been the annual Fashion Tea.
Last spring it was Tea Time at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. St. Anne’s Guild presented its 48th Annual Tea and Style Show called a “Rainbow of Fashion”. Beautifully appointed tables, delicious tea sandwiches and pastries served graciously with friends made for a lovely afternoon. Added to that was a fashion show of Chico’s great casual clothing for a memorable day that also benefited community charities.
Proceeds from St. Anne's Fashion Tea go to Helping Hands, the Salem Food Bank, other community outreach programs, and special church projects.
From September through June, this group meets at 1:00 pm the first Tuesday of each month. Their main service project is a rummage sale held every May and October to raise money for various projects.
This men’s group gathers every Wednesday morning to chop firewood as well as to enjoy the fresh air and each other’s company. The wood is sold to raise money for church needs.
St. Paul’s Music Guild is the cornerstone of financial support for Evensong services and concerts at St. Paul’s Church. The mission of the guild is to enable the continuation of the great heritage of Anglican Evensong worship along with programs of music outreach to the Salem community. Patronage comes from both inside and outside the Parish.
