Pastoral Care Ministries

Pastoral Care Ministries consists of the 6 subgroups listed below. If you feel that one of these ministries would be helpful for you at this time please email pastoralcare@stpaulsoregon.org or contact Karina at the church at 503-362-3661.

Pastoral Care 14 people have been called and trained as Pastoral Care Ministers (PCM). When a parishioner requests support during a challenging time, a PCM is assigned until the parishioner is in a more peaceful place. The group meets monthly for supervision and continuing education.

Intercessory Prayer There is a dedicated group of intercessory pray-ers on behalf of the congregation. Each one prays daily for 4-5 people on the Prayer List.

Grief Recovery A grief support group is offered 2-3 times a year. Dates for this ministry will be listed in the bulletin, weekly newsletter, and The Word.

Transportation The transportation ministry is for parishioners who have no other way of transport. It is supported by safe caring drivers who are willing to drive parishioners to worship, other church functions or medical appointments. Drivers are people who have an excellent driving record and a reliable car.

Notes & Cards A group of caring people have volunteered to send bereavement cards and also monthly notes to parishioners who are homebound or have a medical condition and are unable to attend church events for a time.

Eucharistic Visitors The Episcopal Church is deeply grounded as a Eucharistic Community. We have a group of Eucharistic Visitors who will offer the Sacrament of Holy Communion to those who are unable to be present with us on a Sunday morning. Eucharist Visitors have been trained by Fr. Simon and are licensed by the Diocese.
